I.WHAT WE DO
One team, one contract, one evidence chain.
Take the complete requirement, one component, a stalled project, an advisory engagement, or a system nobody sells. We scope, build, test and document it, and stay through accreditation. We also tell you when the answer is no.
One facility schedule. One security plan. One accountable contract. Single-point contractual accountability across self-performed and partner-delivered scope.
Secure facilities carried to accreditation, stalled project recovery, sustainment, advisory and readiness.
The Praesidium Suite, custom engineering for accredited spaces, and live systems.
Identifiers, NAICS codes, contract vehicles and core competencies for buyers and primes.

DCSA, or the applicable Cognizant Security Agency, determines facility clearances. The applicable Accrediting Official or Cognizant Security Authority accredits the facility. Authorizing Officials authorize systems, and an authorized C3PAO or the Department of Defense certifies CMMC status. We prepare, build, coordinate and document, and stay through the determination.
III.OUR NAME
We equip the mission. The mission stays yours.
The Salii were the priesthood of Mars, charged with keeping the sacred shields of Rome ready. They never marched to war. Their duty was to make sure those who did were equipped. That is the whole of the idea, and we do not stretch it further.
We do not run your mission. We build the environment it runs in: the secure facility carried to accreditation, the software that works with no outbound connection, the security and compliance evidence the deciding authorities require, and the engineering that ties them together. You own the mission. We answer for the environment.
Our mark is a shield set against the spear of Mars. Look at it straight on and it reads as a shield: something held, something defended. Turn it on its side and the same form becomes an eye, open and watching. Both readings are deliberate: the shield that protects, and the eye that sees.
IV.THE FOUNDER
Where the judgment comes from.
Salian was founded by a U.S. military veteran whose career runs through intelligence and airborne ISR, national security programs, space-based systems, secure facilities and cleared programs, federal contracting, technology, and building companies. Specific units, programs, and platforms are not published here.
Those years produced an operating philosophy the company still runs on. Mission first. Establish ground truth before you act on it. Assume interfaces fail, and design for the failure rather than the demo. Design for the constraints you actually have. Evidence matters: say what you can prove, and show the work behind it. Human responsibility does not transfer to a machine. A system is not complete because the technology runs. Deployment matters as much as design. Understand the failure modes before rollout, not after.
V.THE TEAM
Chosen for the charge, not the pay.
- Cleared before the work. The people who build your space and carry it to accreditation are cleared before they begin. The standard is the entry condition, not the goal.
- Measured on delivery. We measure ourselves on facilities that pass and dates that hold.
- Joining us. The Salii were chosen for the duty, not the reward. We hire the same way. If that sounds like you, tell us about yourself.
VI.COMMON QUESTIONS
About the company.
Does Salian Defense self-perform its work, or deliver through partners?
Both, by design. Salian delivers directly where it holds the capability and orchestrates a vetted network of cleared partners, licensed trades, and qualified suppliers everywhere else, always under one Salian contract, one schedule, and one accountable line. Scope is never limited to in-house headcount: anything a qualified partner can deliver, Salian can deliver, and Salian answers for the result. The client manages one relationship from initial engagement through accreditation and sustainment.
What ventures does Salian Defense run alongside the core facility business?
Alongside the facility business, Salian operates three systems: RFI Hawk for federal opportunity discovery and proposal support, Water Hawk for critical water infrastructure intelligence, and Project Hawk, customer-hosted, for continuous compliance automation. The Praesidium Suite is described on the Technology page.
